Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Money Maker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chad Lockwood!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lockwood throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lockwood is looking to clinch.
Maker misses with a low kick as Lockwood jumps back.
Lockwood comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Lockwood rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maker moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lockwood cracks the inside of Maker's front leg.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lockwood looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Lockwood drives through and clinches with Maker against the cage.
Lockwood is trying to stall.
Maker is trying to break free.

Lockwood breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Maker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Maker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lockwood paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Maker counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Maker.
Maker looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Lockwood is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Maker is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Maker preventing the sweep.
Lockwood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Maker trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Maker trying to control but Lockwood is working from the bottom.
Maker throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Maker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lockwood swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Maker misses with a combination
and Lockwood counters with a good low kick that Maker was not able to check.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lockwood.
Maker tries to clinch there but Lockwood circles away.

so Maker counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Maker is breathing heavily.
Lockwood pulls Maker in close to his closed guard and prevents Maker from doing any damage or advancing position.
Maker is looking to work some ground and pound but Lockwood has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maker trying to control but Lockwood is working from the bottom.
Maker throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Lockwood is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Maker sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Lockwood seems keen to control Maker's posture.
Maker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Lockwood avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Maker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Maker stopping the sweep attempt from Lockwood.
Maker is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maker stops Lockwood from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lockwood looks to clinch

and Maker counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lockwood!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lockwood keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Lockwood is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Money Maker dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Maker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lockwood throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Maker shoots in and bounces Lockwood off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Lockwood looking for a sweep. Not yet Lockwood, not yet.
Lockwood being controlled here, momentarily.
Lockwood looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maker is one step ahead there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Maker looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Lockwood wants to stand but Maker is controlling the position.
Maker tries to free his leg and advance position but Lockwood is retaining full guard.
Lockwood is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lockwood throws a head kick but Maker moves out of range.
Lockwood scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Lockwood with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Maker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lockwood punishes Maker's body with a nice straight punch.
Lockwood throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lockwood lands a right hook to the body.
Maker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Maker tries for a takedown but Lockwood sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Maker misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Maker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Maker avoids the head kick by Lockwood.
Maker throws a head kick but Lockwood moves out of range.

Maker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Maker missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Maker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Maker is working for a submission of some sort.

Money Maker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lockwood tries to improve position but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Maker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lockwood, who protects the arm well.
Lockwood is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Maker asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Maker advances nicely into full mount.

Maker is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lockwood can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Maker wants to finish this one by submission but Lockwood is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Maker.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Maker stands and throws Lockwood's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Maker has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Lockwood is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Maker yanks on the arm and Lockwood is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Maker.
