Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Loconsole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Miguel Cabrera! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Loconsole. No joy for Cabrera on that attempt. Cabrera circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Loconsole looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Loconsole tries to clinch but Cabrera is having none of it. Loconsole tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cabrera swats him away and circles back towards the center. Miguel Cabrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Loconsole tries to clinch there but Cabrera circles away.
Loconsole gets a clinch. Loconsole looking to throw knees to the head but Cabrera is blocking nicely.
Loconsole using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cabrera has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Cabrera tries to land knees in the clinch but Loconsole avoids the damage to the body. Cabrera should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Cabrera tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Loconsole tries to land a knee to the head but Cabrera blocks with his arms.
Cabrera has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Loconsole is trying to keep an underhook but Cabrera manages to get the takedown into half guard. Cabrera wants to take a breather but Loconsole is having none of it. Cabrera is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Loconsole defends it well. Cabrera trying to work for an americana but Loconsole has managed to regain full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Loconsole is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Cabrera has gone for a leg lock! Loconsole slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cabrera's guard. Cabrera looks gassed! Loconsole is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cabrera looking for a sweep. Not yet Cabrera, not yet. Cabrera looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cabrera wants to sweep but no luck. Cabrera is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Cabrera is trying to keep Loconsole in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cabrera had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Loconsole is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cabrera Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Loconsole's back instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Loconsole is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cabrera gets his way!

Loconsole fending off the submission attempt from Cabrera. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cabrera has got one arm under Loconsole's chin. This could be trouble... Loconsole trying to control the other hand but Cabrera gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Loconsole has tapped out! The fight is over!
