Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Grant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zac Jefferson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grant swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jefferson. Jefferson slips under a jab. Grant leaves Jefferson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Grant misses with a hook. The fighters circling - Grant throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Jefferson misses with a looping right. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jefferson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Grant moves away. Grant throws a hook but Jefferson avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grant keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Grant moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Jefferson takes a body punch but keeps moving. Jefferson looks gassed! Nice shot lands for Grant. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Grant defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jefferson. Grant lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Grant buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Grant lands with an overhand left.
It looks like Zac Jefferson has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jefferson on the wrong end of a nice jab. Grant drops Jefferson with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Jefferson looks back up at him and smiles so Grant waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Jefferson is rocked! Grant lands a big uppercut and Jefferson crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Jefferson looks OK. Grant waves Jefferson back to his feet! Jefferson is still on wobbly legs! Can Grant finish him? Crack! Grant connects with the perfect overhand right and Jefferson falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Grant!
