Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between cody klein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darius Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). klein comes to the cage accompanied by remember the name. Ellis is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: D-Town Boogie. Ellis has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Darius Ellis looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, cody klein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darius Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
klein closes the distance and clinches up with Ellis, looking for a takedown. klein pushes Ellis against the cage but Ellis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ellis looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
klein looks to land a combination but Ellis avoids it well.
klein rushes Ellis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
klein throws a knee to the head but misses.
klein breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
klein will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
klein scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
klein lands a decent elbow from side control.
klein moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
klein works to advance to full mount. Ellis defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
klein working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

klein scores with a couple of good head shots there.
klein controlling the pace for now.
BOOM! klein connects with a massive shot to the dome!
klein working for a submission but Ellis is keeping him at bay.
klein trying to control but he's not successful this time.

klein is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ellis has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Ellis in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Ellis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
klein controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee stands the fighters back up. cody klein just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
klein tries to clinch up but Ellis circles away and keeps his distance.
klein fails to land with a series of punches.
klein shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. klein showed some decent athleticism there.
klein winds up and cracks Ellis with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with klein in particular looking to stall.
klein has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
klein wants to pass the guard but Ellis is defending well.
klein stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Ellis to get to his feet.
klein moves in looking to clinch but Ellis pushes him off.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
klein tries for a takedown but Ellis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for cody klein. That's going to take a lot out of him.
klein tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ellis swivels and escapes.
klein misses with a takedown attempt - Ellis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
klein bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ellis tries to get back to half guard but can't.
klein tries to advance to mount but Ellis denies him.
klein is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ellis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
klein controlling the position from side mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
klein thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
cody klein dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Darius Ellis's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
klein closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ellis circles away.
klein takes the fight into the clinch.
klein drags the fight down to the ground.
klein looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
klein has his hands on Ellis's head, controlling the position.
klein keeping moving, preventing Ellis from controlling successfully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ellis is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but klein has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Ellis is looking to defend but klein has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Ellis! klein pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Ellis taps out and this one is all over!
