Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Valadez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clifford Harris!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valadez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Harris defends it nicely.

Valadez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Harris!

Valadez throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Harris because Valadez loaded up on that one.
Valadez lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Harris tries to lock up and control but Valadez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Valadez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Harris manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Harris flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Harris is trying to get back to full guard.
Harris really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Valadez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Valadez postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Harris to stand up.

Harris looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harris tries to pass to full mount but Valadez defends it.
Harris stops Valadez from getting back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harris with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Harris doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Valadez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Harris's guard now.
Valadez wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving.

Valadez turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Valadez manages to end up in side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close second round but I would say that David Valadez will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Harris is pressed up against the cage. Valadez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Harris down to the mat. Harris avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Valadez is looking to break free of the clinch but Harris has double underhooks.
Valadez tries to score a body lock takedown but Harris shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Valadez jumps guard but Harris stands there with Valadez around his waist. Valadez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Harris tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Valadez just stands there and leans against the cage.
Harris is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Valadez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Harris is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Harris takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Valadez stands up over Harris, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Valadez is in close to Harris's body, working some short punches and elbows.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Valadez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to David Valadez.
I think Valadez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
