Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Beltran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charlie Harper has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Beltran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Charlie Harper!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harper will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Harper fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Beltran tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Harper looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Beltran!
Beltran wants to try and get back to his feet.
Harper looking to control and managing it successfully.
I looks like Harper might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Harper is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Beltran has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Beltran!
Harper utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Harper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beltran. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Harper has his hands on Beltran's head, controlling the position.
Harper throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Beltran throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Beltran postures up.
Harper wants to get back to his feet but Beltran is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beltran tries to free his leg and advance position but Harper is retaining full guard.

Beltran is breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Beltran leaves Harper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Alex Beltran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Harper.

Beltran moves into the clinch successfully.
Harper is working for takedown but Beltran is calmly controlling the position for now.
Beltran lands an elbow inside.

Harper will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Beltran up against the cage.

Harper is looking for a triangle but Beltran pushes his legs off easily.
Harper wants to stand up but Beltran is controlling him.

Beltran thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Beltran prevents Harper from getting back to his feet.
Beltran wants to stand but Harper is controlling his posture from full guard.

Beltran drops back looking for a leg! Harper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Harper manages to kick Beltran off! Beltran jumps back into Harper's guard.
Harper wants to stand and escape but Beltran is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Beltran stopping the sweep attempt from Harper.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Harper shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Harper frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Harper dominated that round.
That's time! Beltran's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Harper gets the takedown into side control.
Harper tries to stand but Beltran controls the position and pulls Harper into his guard.
Harper wants to control from the top but Beltran keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harper throwing strikes but missing.
Harper showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Harper throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Beltran being controlled here, momentarily.
Harper pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Beltran is keeping the position for now.
Harper is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Harper gets the takedown into side control.

Harper is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Beltran has escaped the position, nice work there.
Beltran on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Harper wants to stand but Beltran is controlling his arm.

A lull in the action here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Harper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Harper shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Beltran fails with an attempt to clinch.
Harper swats away the attempt to clinch by Beltran.
Harper misses with a takedown attempt - Beltran sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Harper closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Beltran to the mat! Beltran manages to get full guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Harper is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Harper with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Harper's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Harper is looking to stand up but Beltran won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Harper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Harper wants to control from the top but Beltran keeps moving.
Harper is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Beltran keeping moving, preventing Harper from controlling successfully.
Alex Beltran has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Beltran has a closed guard, preventing Harper from standing up.
Harper wants to control from the top but Beltran keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Charlie Harper.
Beltran doesn't manage to clinch there - Harper circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Harper changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Beltran tries to avoid it but Harper manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Beltran to the ground. Beltran escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Harper fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Beltran avoids it really well and circles away.
Beltran tries to clinch but Harper moves out of range.
Harper tries for a takedown but Beltran sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Beltran fails with an attempt to clinch.
Harper fails with a takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Harper.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Harper keeps the fight on the outside.

Harper feints and as Beltran raises his hands in defense, Harper changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Charlie Harper is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Harper content to stall in guard here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Charlie Harper comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Harper winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
