The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivanovich throws a jab when Malalue was well out of range.
Malalue moves in looking to clinch but Ivanovich pushes him off.
Ivanovich digs a good hook to Malalue's body.

Ivanovich clinches up with Malalue and pushes him back against the cage.
Malalue is looking to break free of the clinch but Ivanovich has double underhooks.
Ivanovich goes for a takedown attempt but Malalue pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ivanovich tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Okoch Malalue seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Ivanovich counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Okoch Malalue has been cut.
Ivanovich tries to close the distance and clinch but Malalue swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Ivanovich counters with a series of strikes. Malalue will be more careful next time no doubt.
Ivanovich connects with a single shot there.
Ivanovich is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Ivanovich lands a big head kick that sends Malalue tumbling to the mat! Ivanovich takes a step backwards and waves Malalue back to his feet - he wants the finish!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ivanovich lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Malalue is looking to close the distance but Ivanovich sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Malalue crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Malalue is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
