Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamal McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Gracie has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamal McCoy!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McCoy throws out the jab.

Gracie shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
McCoy is looking to improve his position.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
McCoy tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.
Gracie sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.
Gracie perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McCoy for as long as he can get away with.
McCoy trying to hold on to Gracie's head to control him but Gracie postures up.
McCoy tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.

Gracie is looking to advance position but McCoy won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Gracie drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Gracie gets in close and instigates a clinch.
McCoy digs a right hand into Gracie's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Gracie's gas tank.
Gracie drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McCoy gets the underhooks and prevents it.
McCoy lands a nice uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie looking to stall.
Gracie wants a takedown.
Nice body punch from McCoy.

McCoy breaks the clinch.
A big right from McCoy misses.

Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.
McCoy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
McCoy looking for a sweep. Not yet McCoy, not yet.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but McCoy is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Gracie dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Gracie closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McCoy quickly recovers to half guard.
McCoy is trying to stand.
Gracie throwing shots but McCoy is blocking nicely.
Gracie wants to advance to full mount but McCoy doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
McCoy looking to control.
Gracie won't allow McCoy to get back to his feet.
McCoy trying to control the position.
Gracie passes into half guard.

Gracie is sneakily working for an arm triangle but McCoy sees it coming and defends easily.
McCoy is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gracie content to control rather than advance.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but McCoy is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McCoy tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg.
McCoy preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. McCoy knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McCoy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
McCoy tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gracie is trying hard to land a takedown here. McCoy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
McCoy leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McCoy throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Gracie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McCoy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McCoy wants it to stay on the feet.
McCoy scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
McCoy scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
McCoy connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gracie's hands.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A jab from McCoy finds it's way through Gracie's defenses.

McCoy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gracie stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Gracie takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Gracie closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jamal McCoy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


McCoy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McCoy but McCoy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
McCoy cracks Gracie with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McCoy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt.

Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie showed some decent athleticism there.
McCoy is trying to get back to full guard.
McCoy won't allow Gracie to pass to mount.
McCoy is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
McCoy moves into full guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie wants to control from the top but McCoy keeps moving.
Gracie is really struggling to control McCoy but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
McCoy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

We're going to have a standup here because John Gracie wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
McCoy stuns Gracie with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Gracie wants to clinch up but McCoy keeps it at a distance.
McCoy scores with a decent looking hook.
Gracie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McCoy to score with a decent uppercut.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but McCoy shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McCoy lands a nice looking body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McCoy lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gracie backs up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie takes one on the button.


Gracie is rocked!
Gracie takes one to the side of the head.
Oh Gracie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McCoy fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Gracie to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Gracie looks to clinch but McCoy throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Gracie taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Jamal McCoy!
