Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Kiptanui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kiptanui comes to the cage accompanied by Uniikki - Pojat On Poikii feat: Elastinen & Spekti . Grant has chosen Beanie (Mack B****) as his entrance music. Dwight Grant is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grant feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Grant postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kiptanui is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Grant, into his guard.

Kiptanui escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Grant gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Grant stops Kiptanui from standing up.
Kiptanui looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Grant puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Kiptanui wants to get back to his feet.
Grant frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Grant is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kiptanui can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Grant wants to control the pace but Kiptanui is squirming around nicely.

Grant goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Kiptanui is on top in guard.

Grant has control of Kiptanui's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kiptanui regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kiptanui is looking for a sweep. Grant is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Grant closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kiptanui circles away.
Kiptanui displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Grant.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Grant is defended easily by Kiptanui.
Gabriel Kiptanui has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwight Grant.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kiptanui is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Grant loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Grant stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kiptanui swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Grant with a lazy takedown attempt

and Kiptanui counters by clinching up.
Kiptanui fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kiptanui goes for a takedown attempt but Grant pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kiptanui pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kiptanui changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Grant looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kiptanui goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Grant rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kiptanui's guard! Nice work there by Grant!

Grant drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kiptanui manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Grant has Kiptanui in his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Grant working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kiptanui doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kiptanui manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
