Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yulis Mortis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitchell Pearsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yulis Mortis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mitchell Pearsen!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearsen throws a right and a left that Mortis avoids nicely.
Mortis gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pearsen.
A left lands for Pearsen.
Mortis wants to clinch.
Mortis fails with the takedown.
Mortis shoots in for a takedown but Pearsen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Pearsen with a jab.
Mortis dives in and grabs Pearsen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pearsen pushes down on Mortis's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yulis Mortis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mortis misses with a combination
and Pearsen counters with a one-two to the body.
Pearsen throws a shot to the body.
Pearsen lands a slapping body shot.
Pearsen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mortis on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Mortis takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Yulis Mortis has been cut.
Mortis is breathing heavily.
Pearsen jabs at Mortis's body.
Pearsen works over Mortis's head and body with a nice combination.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pearsen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mortis doesn't seem bothered though.
Pearsen throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Mortis stumbling backwards into the cage! Mortis bounces back off the cage towards Pearsen, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Pearsen lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Pearsen celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Mitchell Pearsen!
