Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mondial Dos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Langston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mondial Dos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Langston!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos slips a jab and a cross from Langston.
Langston swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dos misses the body punch
and Langston cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dos darts in trying to clinch
and Langston counters with a left to the body.
Dos scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Dos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Langston swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mondial Dos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dos dips to his left and cracks Langston with an uppercut!
Dos lands with a right hand.
Langston scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Langston throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dos drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Dos wants to clinch.

Dos looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Langston!

You get the feeling that Langston really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Langston wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Dos content just to control the position here.
Dos looking to ground and pound but Langston is blocking nicely.

Dos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Langston is looking to escape.
Langston is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Dos tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Langston is squirming around, avoiding Dos's attempts to control the action.

Dos thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Dos goes for an armbar but Langston turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Langston.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mondial Dos.

Dos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Langston is fending him off so far but Dos persists. Nope, Langston circles away and we're back to standing.

Langston tries to keep at a distance but Dos has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dos has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Langston is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mondial Dos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Langston wants to get back to striking at distance but Dos won't allow it.

Langston manages to break the clinch.
Dos shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Langston defends it nicely.
Langston misses with a few strikes there.
Dos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Langston misses with a low kick as Dos jumps back.
Langston throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Langston stuffs the takedown attempt from Dos. Dos gets slowly back to his feet.

Dos moves into the clinch successfully.
Dos has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Langston is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Langston wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Dos is trying to trip Langston. He has hold of a leg but Langston is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dos persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dos sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Langston's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mondial Dos will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dos tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Langston swivels and escapes.

Dos lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Langston lands a jab to Dos's midsection.
The fighters circle momentarily. Dos darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Dos swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Langston counters with a left to the body.
Dos looks to land a right hand but Langston moved out of range.
Jab, jab by Langston - just one landing.
Dos clinches but Langston breaks the clinch
and Langston counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Langston fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dos manages to avoid it.

Dos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Langston lands a head shot.
Joe Langston is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Langston throws a body punch but Dos moves out of range.
Langston keeps the fight on the outside.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dos looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Langston tries to land a front kick but Dos steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Langston breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Langston counters with a three punch combo that has Dos backing up. Dos nods at Langston to acknowledge the strikes.
Good exchange - Langston coming out on top.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dos checks a leg kick.
Langston stuffs the takedown.
Langston goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Langston looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dos takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Langston uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Langston slips under a jab from Dos.

Dos changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Langston looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Langston is not content to let Dos control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Langston throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Langston takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Langston takes a swing at Dos's ribcage but misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dos is defended easily by Langston.

Dos closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dos lands in his opponent's guard.
