Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mort Kulig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiki Konda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiki Konda is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mort Kulig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hiki Konda!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kulig.
Kulig tries to clinch there but Konda circles away.
Konda fails with a takedown attempt.
Kulig is looking to clinch but Konda is avoiding it.
Konda avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Konda tries to close the distance and clinch but Kulig swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Konda is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kulig sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Konda jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kulig walks away with a smile on his face. Konda gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Konda counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kulig is pulling down on Konda's head. It's preventing any offense from Konda, at least for the moment.

Konda drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Konda jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Konda loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Kulig is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Konda counters with a lovely shot to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Konda has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kulig uses from the top position.
Konda manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kulig manages to get himself to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kulig is on top in guard.

Konda has his foot on Kulig's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kulig works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kulig, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
