Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Igor Subora! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, BIZZ NESS! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! NESS closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Subora looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. NESS is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Subora sees it coming and defends easily. Subora is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but NESS pulls his head out easily. Subora is breathing heavily. Subora wants to improve his position but NESS is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. NESS decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. NESS has managed to clinch.
Subora taking a breather. NESS tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Subora smiles and moves away.
Subora misses with a takedown attempt and NESS counters with a nice double leg into guard. Subora keeping moving, preventing NESS from controlling successfully. NESS pushes down on Subora's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Subora is not content to let NESS control the position. Subora wants to improve his position but NESS is controlling well.
NESS wants to lay and pray for a moment but Subora keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Subora tries to roll over but NESS keeps him under control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. NESS shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. NESS showed some decent athleticism there. NESS trying to control the action but Subora is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Subora wants to get back to full guard. NESS is working for a kimura but Subora is defending it quite comfortably.
Subora is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
BIZZ NESS dominated that round. That's time! Subora's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Subora misses with a takedown and NESS counters by clinching up. Subora looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Subora tries to break the clinch but NESS is controlling the position. Subora manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Subora being controlled here, momentarily. NESS trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Subora working a defensive guard here.
Subora wants to hit a switch here but NESS passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Subora there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Subora reaches up to try and control the position but NESS seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Subora rolls and tries to escape and now NESS has his back!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. NESS tries to keep control of the position but Subora is staying busy. NESS gets his hands free as Subora looks to control. NESS working for a choke but Subora is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Subora looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Subora tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. NESS lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Subora tries to hold on but NESS pushes him away. Subora keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Subora sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but BIZZ NESS will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Subora doesn't succeed with the takedown and NESS counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Subora! Subora tries to control the position but NESS now has his back.

That's one minute gone in the round. Subora looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Subora rolls, trying to escape but NESS keeps control of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Subora trying to control but NESS is working from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. NESS misses with a takedown and Subora counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in NESS's guard now. Subora preventing the sweep. Subora postures up in NESS's guard and throws a big left but NESS blocks it. Subora forces his way into half guard. NESS is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Subora trying to advance position but NESS counters by regaining guard. NESS is trying to keep Subora in close.
Subora wants to control from the top but NESS keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. NESS is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Subora is looking to advance position but NESS has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Subora prevents NESS from taking his back.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Igor Subora. Well NESS has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
