Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juan Dela Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Dela Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Beast! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dela Cruz tries to clinch up but Beast circles away and keeps his distance. Dela Cruz pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Dela Cruz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Beast rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dela Cruz moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Dela Cruz misses with a takedown attempt - Beast sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Dela Cruz tries to clinch but Beast is having none of it. Dela Cruz shoots in for a takedown but Beast shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juan Dela Cruz. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beast dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Beast moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Juan Dela Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dela Cruz feints and then cracks Beast's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Beast down. Dela Cruz fails with a takedown attempt. Dela Cruz is breathing heavily.

enabling Beast to counter with a crisp jab. Beast lands a nice looking body kick. Beast closes the distance and pushes Dela Cruz back into the ropes. Beast gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Dela Cruz regains guard.
Beast passes Dela Cruz's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Beast is figuring out what he wants to do next. I looks like Beast might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Beast is pressing down on Dela Cruz's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dela Cruz is holding on for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beast has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Beast sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Dela Cruz in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! That's three minutes gone in the round. Beast working Dela Cruz over with strikes here. Beast takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. A nice elbow there by Beast. Beast looking to control and managing it successfully.
Despite being in the dominant position, Marcus Beast just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Beast circles away from the clinch attempt enabling Beast to counter with a crisp jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz throws a big shot that misses. Beast scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Beast works the jab nicely. Dela Cruz misses with a takedown letting Beast counter with a right hand. Beast throws a right and a left that Dela Cruz avoids nicely. Dela Cruz doesn't succeed with the takedown and Beast counters with a shoot takedown. Dela Cruz fights it but they end up in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Beast dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Beast scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Beast controlling from side mount. Beast has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Beast is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Dela Cruz doesn't succeed with the takedown and Beast counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Beast. Beast passes Dela Cruz's left leg - he's now in half guard. Beast sitting and controlling from the half guard. Dela Cruz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Dela Cruz trying to control but Beast postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Marcus Beast. Nice cross by Beast.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz tries to clinch but Beast moves away and Beast counters with a single leg into guard. Dela Cruz didn't expect that. Beast works a leg free and moves into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Beast passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Dela Cruz! Beast controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dela Cruz tries to hold on but Beast postures up. Dela Cruz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dela Cruz tries to get out of the position. Beast content just to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Let's hope that Beast has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Beast punishing his opponent with strikes. Marcus Beast showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

A low kick from Dela Cruz misses and Beast connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Beast shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Beast wants to control from the top but Dela Cruz keeps moving. Beast seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Beast advances to half guard. Dela Cruz is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Beast scores with a couple of nice shots. Beast passes to full mount! Beast cracks Dela Cruz with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Beast shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dela Cruz napping and manages to drive through into side control! Beast has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Dela Cruz with a poor takedown so Beast counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Beast showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Juan Dela Cruz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Beast passes into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Beast comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Beast has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
