Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Baumgartner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Somers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baumgartner kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Knock you out. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Somers! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baumgartner fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Somers avoids it really well and circles away. Some wild striking there from Baumgartner.
Baumgartner drops Somers with a beautiful combination! Somers stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Baumgartner is looking for the KO!
It looks like Eric Somers has been cut. Somers moves into the clinch. Somers lands a takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Baumgartner looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Baumgartner keeping full guard, as Somers tries to pass. Baumgartner has Somers pulled in close to control his posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Somers wants to stand but Baumgartner is controlling his posture from full guard. Baumgartner keeping moving, preventing Somers from controlling successfully. Baumgartner on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Baumgartner tries to get out of the position. Baumgartner is looking to stand up but Somers isn't so interested in that idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Baumgartner closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Baumgartner lands in his opponent's guard. Somers is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Baumgartner has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Baumgartner cracks Somers with a solid left hand. Baumgartner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Baumgartner throws a big right hand that misses. Baumgartner is looking to work some ground and pound but Somers has wrist control. Somers is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Baumgartner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Somers as he avoids it easily. Baumgartner is breathing heavily. Baumgartner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Somers tries to avoid it but Baumgartner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Somers to the ground. Somers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Baumgartner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Baumgartner looks to land a combination but Somers avoids it well. No luck for Baumgartner with that takedown attempt. Somers scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Baumgartner is trying to stand up here but Somers is controlling him well. Somers is trying to control the action in half guard but Baumgartner is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Somers is thwarting Baumgartner's attempts to control the position. Somers postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Baumgartner to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Somers lands a nice leg kick that just misses Baumgartner's sensitive parts. Somers closes the distance and pushes Baumgartner back into the cage. Baumgartner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Somers lands a lovely overhand right. Somers is looking to clinch but Baumgartner is avoiding it.

Somers lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Somers scores with a takedown into Baumgartner's guard. Baumgartner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Somers on the ground. Baumgartner is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Robert Baumgartner will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Eric Somers's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Baumgartner swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Baumgartner with a poor takedown and Somers counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Baumgartner is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Somers is controlling him. Somers stands up from Baumgartner's guard - Somers perhaps looking for a knockout. Baumgartner throws a combination that misses letting Somers counter with a right hand. Baumgartner throws a hook but Somers avoids it easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Baumgartner slaps away a takedown attempt from Somers, before circling back to the center of the mat. Somers misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Somers lands with a kick to the ribs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baumgartner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Somers was covering up waiting for the punch and Baumgartner finishes the takedown easily into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Baumgartner throws and elbow that misses. Somers uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Baumgartner's guard. Nice move by Somers! Somers decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Baumgartner, up you get! Baumgartner scores a takedown into full mount! Somers gets back to half guard. Baumgartner sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Somers defending well though. Somers wants to control but Baumgartner is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Somers blocking the ground and pound attempt from Baumgartner. Baumgartner looks to land a strike but Somers avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Baumgartner working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Baumgartner throws a strike but Somers rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Baumgartner avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Baumgartner manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baumgartner looks to throw a body kick and Somers counters with a single leg into guard. Baumgartner didn't expect that. Somers trying to control but Baumgartner is working from the bottom. Baumgartner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Somers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Baumgartner keeping moving, preventing Somers from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baumgartner wants to sweep here but Somers controlling him for the moment. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Baumgartner wants to stand but Somers is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baumgartner postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Baumgartner works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Baumgartner lands a jab. Robert Baumgartner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Baumgartner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Somers sprawls well initially but Baumgartner persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Somers wants to improve his position but Baumgartner is controlling well.
Somers looking for submissions off his back. Baumgartner seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Somers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Somers pushes Baumgartner off and gets back to his feet. Baumgartner tries to clinch up but Somers circles away and keeps his distance. Baumgartner misses with a few strikes there.

Somers shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Baumgartner manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Baumgartner wants to hit a switch here but Somers passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Baumgartner there! Somers lands a heavy elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Somers sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Baumgartner holds on to Somers around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks. Baumgartner wants to control but Somers is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Somers wants to control the pace but Baumgartner is squirming around nicely. Baumgartner is trying to stand. Baumgartner wants to control but Somers is having none of it. Somers thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Robert Baumgartner showed his dominance in that final round. I think Baumgartner has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
