Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Grandmaster Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaw is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Jose Cuervo. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Grandmaster Red! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Terry Shaw! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Red bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Red throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nice shot by Red. Shaw has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Shaw there as he acknowledges the shot. Red misses with a two punch combination.
Red misses with a double jab.
Shaw throws a front kick aimed at Red's knee but Red avoids it well. Red misses with a hook. Red throws the left hand but Shaw avoids the punch easily. Shaw attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Shaw tries to land a leg kick but Red saw it coming and moves away.
Shaw moves in looking to clinch but Red pushes him off. Shaw shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Shaw throws a leg kick which misses Red's front leg but catches the back leg as Red tries to avoid it. Red checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Red stuns Shaw with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Shaw throws a low kick but Red moves out of range easily. Red misses with a looping left. Shaw tries a low kick but Red avoids it. Shaw shoots for a double leg takedown but Red sprawls well. He's pushed Shaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Shaw slips a straight right by Red.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw fails with the takedown. Grandmaster Red is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Shaw changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Red looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Shaw working the strikes but Red uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Red knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shaw on the ground. Red wants to get back to full guard. Red avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Shaw. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shaw trying to control from half guard but Red is working away. Shaw is pressing down on Red's thigh, looking to free his foot. Red is holding on for now. Red tries to get to full guard but Shaw has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shaw is thwarting Red's attempts to control the position. Red on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Red tries to get out of the position.
We're going to have a standup here because Grandmaster Red wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Shaw throws a low kick, looking for Red's leg but Red calmly moves out of range. A left lands for Red. A nice leg kick lands there from Shaw. Shaw wants to land a leg kick but Red is out of range. Shaw needs to keep his hands up - Red had a free shot at his head there. Red avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Shaw connects with a solid leg kick. Shaw shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Red but Red pushes him off and we're back to square one. Grandmaster Red has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terry Shaw. Red scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shaw doesn't seem bothered though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Red checks a low kick from Shaw. Shaw moves in looking to clinch but Red pushes him off. Shaw tries to work over Red's front leg with a kick but Red checks it. Shaw showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Red.
Shaw uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Red. Red ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shaw moves away. The fighters circle momentarily. Red darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Shaw slips a jab and a cross from Red.
Shaw throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Red takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Red is breathing heavily. Shaw attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Shaw is trying hard to land a takedown here. Red sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Shaw, right into the meat.
Shaw tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Shaw displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Red throws out the jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shaw is looking to chop away at Red's legs. Shaw is looking to score with low kicks. Shaw throws a low kick but Red avoids it. Shaw tries to land a leg kick but Red saw it coming and moves away.
Shaw clinches up against the cage. Shaw lands a knee to the body.
Red is trying to maintain a safe position but Shaw gets an underhook and turns Red into the cage. Red takes a knee to the side of the body. Red on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Shaw pulls Red into guard.
Shaw is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Shaw trying to control from half guard but Red is working away. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Red trying to control from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shaw passes to side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shaw wants to lay and pray for a moment but Red keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Terry Shaw will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Shaw will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Shaw shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Red napping and manages to drive through into side control! Shaw is putting a hurting on Red here, landing some big shots from side control. Shaw works to advance to full mount. Red defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Shaw scoring with strikes but Red is staying in there. Shaw dominating with strikes here. Shaw landing punches. Shaw goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Red turns into him and now he's in Shaw's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shaw tries to land a sweep but no joy. Shaw is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Red blocking the ground and pound attempt from Shaw. Shaw works his foot free and advances to mount. Shaw putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Shaw thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Shaw lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Red wants to control but Shaw is having none of it. Terry Shaw has got the better of the ground game so far. Red in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Red tries to reverse the position but Shaw maintains control. Red blocking the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw tries to control but Red wriggling away. Shaw working Red over with strikes here. Shaw thowing shots but they're missing. Red wants to hold on but Shaw pushes him away. BOOM! Shaw connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Shaw is landing with some decent strikes but Red is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Red is in all sorts of trouble here.
Shaw punching from mount but Red doing a good job of avoiding damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shaw landing strikes from the mount and Red is in trouble! Red wants to hold on but Shaw pushes him away. Shaw throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Red because Shaw loaded up on that one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Red wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Shaw.

Shaw tries to control but Red wriggling away. Shaw throwing strikes here but Red is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Shaw is working for a guillotine from mount but Red frees his head quite easily.
Shaw prevents Red from getting the reversal. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Red tries to hold on but Shaw postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Terry Shaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Shaw tried to score with a low kick but Red checks it. Shaw slips under a jab from Red. Shaw throws a leg kick but Red sees it coming and checks it nicely. Shaw blocks a jab. Terry Shaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shaw is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Red. Red misses with a wild body shot. Red throws a body punch but Shaw moves out of range. Shaw pivots, looking for a leg kick but Red is out of range and Shaw settles back down. Red lands a two punch combo.
Shaw shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Red defends it nicely. Red takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Red checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Red lands a jab. Red cracks Shaw with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Grandmaster Red is winning the standup battle so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Red checks a leg kick. Red moves into range and connects with a jab. Red smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Good standup being displayed there by Red as he connects with a hook. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Red crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Shaw - the referee stops the clock and Red gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Shaw. Red manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Shaw is looking to slow Red down with leg kicks. Shaw scores with a head kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Shaw.

Shaw is looking to chop away at Red's legs. Shaw throws a low kick but it's checked well by Red. Red digs a good body shot into Shaw's ribs. Shaw shoots in for a takedown but Red shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Grandmaster Red has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terry Shaw. Red misses with a few strikes there.
Shaw slips a jab from Red. Shaw looks to land a body kick but Red moved away. Red misses with a body shot.
Red stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Red wants it to stay on the feet. Shaw needs to keep his hands up - Red had a free shot at his head there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Red throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shaw stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Red lands a head shot. Shaw takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Red throws a lazy right hand but Shaw sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Shaw throws a chopping leg kick but Red manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Shaw avoids the body shot from Red.
Shaw misses with a low kick as Red jumps back. Red tests Shaw's chin there with a solid looking shot. Grandmaster Red has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Good work by Red as he checks the leg kick. Grandmaster Red is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Red looks to throw the jab but Shaw is out of range. Red is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Red connects with a single shot there. Shaw closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Shaw lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Red has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Red and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Red looks to land a left hand but Shaw moved out of range nicely. Shaw chopping away at his opponent's legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shaw wants to land a leg kick but Red is out of range. Shaw has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Red checks a leg kick. Red misses with a straight left. Shaw misses with a leg kick. Red misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shaw throws a low kick but Red moves out of range easily. Red throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Shaw throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Shaw looks for the body kick but Red saw that one coming. Shaw fails with a takedown attempt. Terry Shaw is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Shaw moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Shaw lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad.
