The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pigg on the side of the head.
Silva looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Pigg looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there.
Silva cracks Pigg with a solid left hand.
Pigg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Silva throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Pigg controlling the position.

Pigg has momentary wrist control but Silva slips an elbow through the middle.

Silva loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Silva won't allow Pigg to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva advances position into side control!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Silva lands some shots froms side control.
Pigg takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Silva scores with punches from side control.
Silva lands an elbow.
Pigg is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Oh Pigg is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pigg is looking to regain half guard here but Silva keeps moving and retains side control.
Pigg seems to have got his legs back now.
Pigg is breathing heavily.
Silva is putting a hurting on Pigg here, landing some big shots from side control.
Silva tries to move to mount but Pigg blocks the move with his legs.
Silva lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Silva landing a few strikes.
Silva scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Pigg is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Silva can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
