Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dom Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tanaka Fukuda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dom Marshall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tanaka Fukuda!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marshall scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Tanaka Fukuda has been cut.
Tanaka Fukuda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fukuda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marshall tries to avoid it but Fukuda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marshall to the ground. Marshall escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fukuda shoots in for a double leg but Marshall sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fukuda swats away the attempt to clinch by Marshall.
Fukuda tries to clinch up but Marshall circles away and keeps his distance.
Fukuda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marshall circles away.
Dom Marshall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tanaka Fukuda.

and Marshall counters with a shoot takedown. Fukuda fights it but they end up in guard.


Fukuda is rocked!
Marshall is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Marshall looking to sit in guard and control but Fukuda gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Marshall working for a triangle but Fukuda defends it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Marshall is trying to maintain the position but Fukuda is very close to passing his half guard.
Marshall is looking to get back to is feet but Fukuda passes into side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Fukuda throws a right and a left that both miss.
Marshall shoots in and drives through. Fukuda sprawls well.

Fukuda connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Marshall to the floor! Fukuda dives in looking for the finish!

Fukuda wants to stand up but Marshall is controlling the position.

and Marshall counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Fukuda's guard now.
Marshall has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marshall trying to control but Fukuda is working from the bottom.
Fukuda can't keep his opponent in guard - Marshall advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fukuda misses with a two punch combination.
Marshall gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Fukuda counters with a single leg into guard. Marshall didn't expect that.
Marshall wants to sweep but no luck.

Marshall is really struggling to control Fukuda but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Fukuda wants to control from the top but Marshall keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Marshall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fukuda's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Fukuda stands and steps away. Marshall gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Marshall drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Fukuda wants to control but Marshall postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fukuda wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Fukuda prevents Marshall from moving into mount.

Fukuda wants to get back to his feet.
Fukuda is not content to let Marshall control the position.
Fukuda tries to escape but Marshall is in control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Marshall creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Fukuda pushes Marshall away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Marshall gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Marshall has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fukuda jumps guard but Marshall stands there with Fukuda around his waist. Fukuda gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Fukuda wants to stall.
Marshall prevents Fukuda from breaking the clinch.

Marshall pulls guard.
Marshall tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Fukuda wants to stand but Marshall is controlling his posture from full guard.
Fukuda won't allow Marshall to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Tanaka Fukuda will probably get the nod - 10:9.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Marshall closes the distance and pushes Fukuda back into the cage.
Fukuda wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Fukuda tries to break the clinch but Marshall is controlling the position.

Marshall tries to pull guard but Fukuda holds him up against the cage and eventually Marshall drops back down to his feet.

Marshall has a couple of punches blocked by Fukuda.

Marshall tries to free his leg and advance position but Fukuda is retaining full guard.

Fukuda wants to stand and escape but Marshall is having none of it.

Marshall drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fukuda manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Marshall has Fukuda in his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Marshall wants to stand up but Fukuda is controlling him.
Dom Marshall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Marshall wants to control but Fukuda passes easily into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fukuda in particular looking to stall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fukuda passes into side control, despite Marshall's attempt to control the position.
Marshall is looking for a sweep.
Marshall struggling a bit here.

Fukuda decides to stand back up. Fukuda steps back and let's Marshall get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fukuda tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Marshall tries to clinch there but Fukuda circles away.
Marshall keeps the fight on the outside.

Marshall tries to keep at a distance but Fukuda has taken the fight into the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Marshall takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Fukuda pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dom Marshall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fukuda throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fukuda looks to clinch

and Marshall counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Marshall.
Marshall misses with a hook to the ribs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Fukuda breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fukuda shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Marshall decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fukuda's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dom Marshall showed his dominance in that final round.
