Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ed Larson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larson comes to the cage accompanied by Headstrong by Trapt. Ed Larson had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ed Larson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Davis! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Larson's head backwards. Davis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Larson circles away quickly and effectively. Larson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Larson on the wrong end of a nice hook. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horrible takedown by Larson or perhaps it was just good defense by Davis which made him look bad.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Larson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed Larson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davis misses with a wild combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Davis misses with the combination.
Larson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Davis sprawls well. Davis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Larson gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Larson misses with a takedown attempt - Davis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Larson fails to land the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Larson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davis but Davis pushes him off and we're back to square one. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Larson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Davis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Davis dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Davis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Larson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Davis defends it nicely. Larson misses with a takedown attempt - Davis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Larson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davis's waist but Davis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Larson off to one side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Davis digs a good body shot into Larson's ribs. Larson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Davis defends it nicely. Davis slaps away a takedown attempt from Larson, before circling back to the center of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phil Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Davis stuns Larson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Davis scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Larson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis lands with a nice combination. Larson backs away looking to recover. Davis swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Larson. Davis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Larson shoots in and drives through. Davis sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed Larson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davis connects with a single shot there. Larson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Davis avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis throws a series of punches but Larson moves out of range. Davis jabs Larson right on the nose. Larson blinks but takes it well. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Larson fails with a takedown attempt. Larson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ed Larson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ed Larson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Davis stuffs the takedown attempt from Larson. Larson gets slowly back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Phil Davis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Davis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
