Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renan Goncalves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Werdum shoots in and bounces Goncalves off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Werdum trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Werdum showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Werdum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goncalves swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Goncalves keeping moving, preventing Werdum from controlling successfully.
Werdum stops Goncalves from standing up.
Werdum pushing down on Goncalves's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Goncalves is breathing heavily.
Goncalves is defending against the submission attempts here by Werdum.
Werdum is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Goncalves has managed to free his arm - good work.

Goncalves is refusing to be controlled, as Werdum sits in half guard.
Werdum passes the guard and advances to mount!
Goncalves taking shots to the head.
Werdum postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Goncalves looks a forlorn figure.

Werdum with shots to the head and body - Goncalves looks very uncomfortable down there.
Goncalves's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Werdum takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Werdum lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Werdum controlling the pace for now.
Werdum tries to control but Goncalves wriggling away.

Werdum landing shots from mount.
Werdum jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Goncalves manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Werdum is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Goncalves looks calm but he's in trouble here. Werdum gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Goncalves is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Werdum lets go of the hold and Goncalves can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Fabricio Werdum!
