Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kot Vaska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nickolai Zhukov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nickolai Zhukov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kot Vaska!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nickolai Zhukov!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhukov looks to land a left hand but Vaska moved out of range nicely.
Zhukov lands with an uppercut that bounces Vaska off the cage and back into rage.
Vaska shoots in for a takedown but Zhukov shows good takedown defense.
Vaska closes this distance looking for a takedown but Zhukov circles away.
Zhukov keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Vaska tries for a takedown but Zhukov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kot Vaska. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zhukov misses with a looping right.
Vaska shoots in looking for a takedown. Zhukov tries to sprawl out of it but Vaska keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zhukov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Zhukov lands a nice hook to Vaska's body. Vaska takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Zhukov misses with a series of wild punches.
Vaska looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Zhukov is fending him off so far but Vaska persists. Nope, Zhukov circles away and we're back to standing.
Zhukov slaps away a takedown attempt from Vaska, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Zhukov throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Vaska on the side of the head.
Zhukov missing with a left hand there. Vaska was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Vaska doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Zhukov lands a body shot.
Vaska is breathing heavily.
Zhukov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Vaska.
Zhukov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vaska.
Zhukov cracks Vaska with a good jab.


It looks like Kot Vaska has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zhukov tests Vaska's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nickolai Zhukov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vaska shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zhukov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Vaska trying to control the position from guard on top but Zhukov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Zhukov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vaska drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vaska jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zhukov can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Vaska drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vaska jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vaska drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Zhukov lands a head shot.
Zhukov with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Zhukov lands a left and a right that send Vaska crashing to the mat, dazed. Zhukov thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vaska takes one to the chin there.

Zhukov sends Vaska crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Zhukov is motioning to the referee to let Vaska up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nickolai Zhukov dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kot Vaska's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Zhukov sends Vaska crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Zhukov is motioning to the referee to let Vaska up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Vaska walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Zhukov thows a left - swing and a miss!
Vaska fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zhukov avoids it really well and circles away.
Vaska changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zhukov tries to avoid it but Vaska manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zhukov to the ground. Zhukov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Zhukov connects with a single shot there.
Vaska takes one on the chin but seems OK.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zhukov works Vaska's body with a nice hook.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Zhukov throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Zhukov connects with a crisp jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zhukov connects with a good right hand that stumbles Vaska. Vaska circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Zhukov drops Vaska with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Vaska! Zhukov dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nickolai Zhukov!
