Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Comet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lolly Pop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pop ducks under a wild hook from Comet.
Pop avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Pop checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Pop throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Jackson Comet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pop uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Comet.
Comet throws a nice inside leg kick.
Comet bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Comet connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Comet tries to clinch up.
Comet takes a swing at Pop's ribcage but misses.

The fight stays on the outside here - Comet looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Pop bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Comet throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Comet is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pop.

Jackson Comet is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Comet ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pop moves away.
Pop scores with a jab to the body.
Pop circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pop avoids the body shot from Comet.
Comet tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pop on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Comet rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pop moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pop misses with a series of wild punches.
Comet tries to clinch up but Pop circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pop throws a head kick that misses
and Comet counters with an inside leg kick.
Comet uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pop has time to react.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Pop motions for Comet to come forward. Pop throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Pop thuds his shin into the meat of Comet's side.
Pop circles away from the clinch attempt.
Comet swinging wildly here.
Comet pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pop misses the shot to the body.
Pop gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Comet counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Pop pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Comet misses with the body kick
and Pop counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Comet goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Comet misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

so Pop counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Comet is looking to stand back up but Pop counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Comet.
Pop tries to pass to full mount but Comet defends it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pop with the ground and pound but Comet uses the opportunity to regain guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pop postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Lolly Pop will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Pop fails with the takedown
and Comet counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Pop thinking.
Pop avoids the body shot from Comet.
Comet fails with an attempt to clinch.
Comet tries to score with a low kick but Pop moves his leg out of the way.
Pop lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Comet connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Comet throws a sloppy head kick

and Pop counters with a nice double leg into side control. Comet won't be happy with that.
Pop lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sloppy strikes there by Pop.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Comet wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Comet sneaks out the side door and pushes Pop away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Comet fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pop looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Pop takes one to the chin there.
Comet scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Comet throws a push kick but Pop slaps the foot to one side.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jackson Comet.
I think Comet has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
