The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGown tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mason was well out of range. Poor timing from McGown.
Mason slips under a jab.
Mason is looking to clinch but McGown is avoiding it.
McGown comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Mason looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McGown lands a big shot that drops Mason! Can he finish him?
Mason is rocked!
It looks like Joe Mason has been cut.
McGown gets to his feet - Mason follows without any prompting.
Mason is still on wobbly legs! Can McGown finish him?
Mason drops his hands momentarily. McGown doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Mason staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Mason doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jamison McGown!
