Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny T (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makke Hakala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). T kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers - Born to Lose . Makke Hakala looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny T!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Makke Hakala!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
T tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hakala swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Hakala drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
T sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
T won't allow Hakala to pass to mount.
T trying to control here.
T wants to get back to his feet.

T looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Hakala controlling the pace.

T actively working from the bottom here.

Hakala is trying to control the action in half guard but T is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

T pushes Hakala off looking to stand but Hakala dives back in and keeps control.
T wants to control but Hakala is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

T has closed the distance and engaged Hakala in a clinch.
T displaying some good clinch control by pressing Hakala up against the cage.
T digs a right hand into Hakala's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Hakala's gas tank.
T has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hakala is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
T with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
T is trying to maintain a safe position but Hakala gets an underhook and turns T into the cage.

T pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
T doesn't manage to clinch there - Hakala circles away.
T wants to clinch up but Hakala keeps it at a distance.

T gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hakala stops T from standing up.

T has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hakala can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hakala wants to pass the guard but T is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hakala scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
T trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Hakala lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hakala really doesn't want to stay on the ground with T. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
T is trying to control the position but Hakala postures up.
T looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hakala is one step ahead there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
T tries to close the distance and clinch but Hakala swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johnny T is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hakala changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. T looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
T manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hakala wants to lay and pray for a moment but T keeps working.

T looking for submissions off his back.
Hakala is nestled in close to T, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
T is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hakala's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hakala's back!

Hakala manages to escape to his feet.

T closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

T turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and T manages to end up in side control.

T wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hakala, who protects the arm well.

T decides to stand back up. T steps back and let's Hakala get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hakala fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but T avoids it really well and circles away.
T tries to clinch up.
The fight stays on the outside here - T looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
T tries to clinch up but Hakala circles away and keeps his distance.

Hakala throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around T's waist but T gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hakala off to one side.

T closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hakala takes a knee right on the jaw!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Makke Hakala will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


T misses with a hook. Hakala ducked under it nicely.
T is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hakala.
T moves in looking to clinch but Hakala pushes him off.
T tries to clinch but Hakala is having none of it.
T throws a sloppy head kick and Hakala moves out of range easily.

Johnny T is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

T will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hakala up against the cage.
Hakala drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hakala takes a knee right on the jaw!

T pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
T is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

T moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
A slow jab from T misses its intended target.

T fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hakala, pushing him back against the cage.
Nice elbow from T.
T putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Hakala in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
T scores with a knee to the head.

T is trying to trip Hakala. He has hold of a leg but Hakala is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. T persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

T gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
T tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hakala swats him away and circles back towards the center.

T defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hakala.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hakala can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hakala is staying active underneath T, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hakala avoiding damage under a succession of punches from T.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
T is looking to clinch.

T takes the fight into the clinch.

Hakala has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. T is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

T has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hakala clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
T is looking to control Hakala but Hakala is wriggling around and keeping busy.

T seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Johnny T has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Makke Hakala.

T throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
T tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hakala swats him away and circles back towards the center.

T has Hakala pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hakala manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

T lands an elbow that stopped Hakala in his tracks for a moment.

T has Hakala pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. T pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hakala tumbling to the mat - T dives into Hakala's guard.

Hakala has a closed guard, preventing T from standing up.
Hakala is trying to keep T in close.

T gets to his feet. Hakala looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

T pushes Hakala up against the cage in a clinch.

T's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
T tries to clinch there but Hakala circles away.
T tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hakala shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. T defends it nicely.

T using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hakala has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

T escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hakala throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hakala keeps the fight on the outside.

Johnny T showed his dominance in that final round.
Well T has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
