Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Trip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shawn Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Don Trip!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Summers shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Trip but Trip pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Trip fails with the takedown.
Summers misses with a takedown

and Trip counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Trip.
Trip slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Trip stopping the sweep attempt from Summers.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trip wants to control from the top but Summers keeps moving.
Summers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Trip's guard.
Trip keeping moving, preventing Summers from controlling successfully.
Trip looking to hit a scissor sweep but Summers is one step ahead there.

Trip trying to control the position here.
Summers trying to control but Trip is working from the bottom.

Trip has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Summers can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trip can do anything to dispel that myth.
Trip is pulling down on Summers's head. It's preventing any offense from Summers, at least for the moment.
Trip is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Summers trying to control but Trip is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Trip.
Summers tries for a takedown but Trip circles away easily

and Trip counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shawn Summers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Trip won't allow Summers to sweep him here.
Summers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Summers seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Trip does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Trip tries to kick Summers off but Summers keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Trip is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Summers stops Trip from getting back to his feet.
Summers is trying to control. Trip wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Trip wants to control but Summers is keeping busy.
Summers looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Trip is refusing to be controlled, as Summers sits in half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Trip fails to land the takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Summers fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Trip looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Trip tries for a takedown but Summers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Trip shoots in but no luck this time.
Trip tries to close the distance and clinch but Summers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Summers shoots in and drives through. Trip sprawls well.
Trip lands with a thumping leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Trip dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Trip throws a head kick but Summers moves out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Trip. No joy for Summers on that attempt.
Trip shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Summers defends it nicely.
Summers doesn't succeed with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Trip catches Summers with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Trip lands a jab to Summers's midsection.

Summers shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Trip napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Summers trying to control the position but Trip is working away.
Trip is trying to control Summers's posture but Summers avoids it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Summers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Trip keeps working.
Trip tries to bench press Summers off him but Summers keeps the position.
Summers in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Summers throws an elbow but Trip slips to the side and avoids it well.
Trip is looking for a sweep.
Trip is not content to let Summers control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Trip tries to clinch there but Summers circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Trip fails in his attempt to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Trip.
Summers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Trip counters with a leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shawn Summers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Trip shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
No luck for Trip with that takedown attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Summers. No joy for Trip on that attempt.

Trip stuffs the takedown attempt from Summers. Summers gets slowly back to his feet.
Summers fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Shawn Summers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Trip closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Summers did well to prevent Trip getting side control.

Trip is looking for a kimura here.
Summers moves into full guard.
Summers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Trip is one step ahead there.

Summers is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Trip is aware though and is defending well.
Trip stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Summers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Summers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Summers has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Trip should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Summers has tightened it up now! Trip should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
