Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jusuf Al Bahares! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fujiro Nakombi! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakombi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Al Bahares backs up against the cage.
It looks like Jusuf Al Bahares has been cut. Nakombi misses with a two punch combination.
Nakombi tries for a takedown but Al Bahares sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Nakombi. Nakombi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jusuf Al Bahares has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fujiro Nakombi. Al Bahares with a lazy takedown attempt and Nakombi counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Nakombi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Al Bahares's head. Nakombi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Al Bahares is trying to get back to full guard. Nakombi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Nakombi is pressing down on Al Bahares's thigh, looking to free his foot. Al Bahares is holding on for now.

Nakombi is working for a kimura but Al Bahares is defending it quite comfortably.
Nakombi is keen to just control but Al Bahares is a slippery customer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Al Bahares trying to control from the bottom.
Nakombi wants to take a breather but Al Bahares is having none of it. Al Bahares tries to kick Nakombi off but Nakombi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Al Bahares tries to get to full guard but Nakombi has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Al Bahares fails with a takedown attempt. Al Bahares tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nakombi swats him away and circles back towards the center. Al Bahares tries to clinch and Nakombi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Al Bahares looks to clinch and Nakombi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Nakombi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Al Bahares looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Al Bahares looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Al Bahares! Nakombi is looking to reverse the position. Nakombi looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Al Bahares are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Al Bahares stands up. Nakombi has a takedown stuffed. Al Bahares looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Al Bahares swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Nakombi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Al Bahares's guard now. Nakombi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Al Bahares avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakombi advances to half guard. Nakombi working Al Bahares over with strikes. Nakombi moves into full mount! Al Bahares won't be happy about that! Nakombi content just to control the position here. Nakombi looking to control but Al Bahares is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Al Bahares wants to hold on but Nakombi pushes him away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nakombi landing strikes from the mount and Al Bahares is in trouble! Nakombi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fujiro Nakombi dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jusuf Al Bahares's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nakombi gets a takedown into half guard. Nakombi is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Nakombi tries to control but Al Bahares wriggling away. Nakombi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Al Bahares is surviving well by controlling Nakombi's body position as best he can. Nakombi should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nakombi looking to control but Al Bahares is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakombi misses with a head shot. Nakombi working for a guillotine from mount but Al Bahares is in no mood to give up. Nakombi avoids the attempt from Al Bahares to control. Al Bahares knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nakombi on the ground. Al Bahares is trying desperately to improve position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Nakombi looking to control but Al Bahares is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Nakombi looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Nakombi working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Nakombi looking to control but Al Bahares is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nakombi prevents Al Bahares from getting the reversal. Nakombi working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Al Bahares looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Nakombi! Submission of the night perhaps?
