Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Greg Bryant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knox has chosen Something I Can Never Have as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Bryant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey Knox!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryant fails to land the takedown.

Bryant drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Bryant tries for a kimura but Knox is defending well.
Knox manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Bryant throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Bryant is pressing down on Knox's thigh, looking to free his foot. Knox is holding on for now.
Bryant has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Knox is looking to improve his position.
Bryant wants to free his trapped foot but Knox is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Knox wants to improve his position but Bryant is controlling well.

Bryant is trying to work for a kimura but Knox is defending well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Let's hope that Knox has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bryant is looking to advance position but Knox has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bryant is working hard here to advance position.
Knox controlling from mount.
Bryant can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Greg Bryant will probably get the nod.

Knox bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bryant tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Knox controlling the position.
Knox looks up at the clock and then as Bryant takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Knox smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Bryant is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Knox's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Knox's back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bryant is looking to get back to full guard here but Knox has managed to pass to side control instead.

Knox with shots to the head and body - Bryant looks very uncomfortable down there.

Bryant is desperately trying to improve his position but Knox has a good base and remains in mount.

Knox is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bryant to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bryant shrugs it off.
Bryant is squirming around, avoiding Knox's attempts to control the action.
Bryant regains half guard.
Bryant works his way to full guard. Good work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bryant manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Bryant goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Knox turns into him and now he's in Bryant's guard.
Bryant trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Knox won't allow Bryant to sweep him here.

Bryant has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Knox can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mickey Knox showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Bryant with a poor takedown

so Knox counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Bryant is looking for a triangle but Knox pushes his legs off easily.
Knox is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Knox stopping the sweep attempt from Bryant.
Knox is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Knox must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Knox trying to control the position from guard on top but Bryant is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bryant has momentary wrist control but Knox slips an elbow through the middle.

Bryant escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Knox gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mickey Knox has got the better of the ground game so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mickey Knox.
Bryant misses with a takedown attempt

and Knox counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bryant wants to sweep but no luck.

Bryant is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Knox is aware though and is defending well.

Bryant throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Knox escapes and throws Bryant's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Knox slows the pace down.

Bryant tries to buck Knox off but Knox is having none of it.
Knox controls the position from side control.
Knox's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Bryant takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Knox works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Bryant is trying to get back to half guard.
Knox landing a few strikes.
Bryant tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Knox working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bryant looks to move to half guard but instead Knox has passed into mount! Damn!

And that's the end of the fight!
Mickey Knox comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Knox has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
