Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fard Tard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mikey Powell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fard Tard! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powell gets caught flat footed, as Tard shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Powell controlling Tard's posture. Powell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tard controls the pace. Powell wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Tard postures up in Powell's guard and throws a big left but Powell blocks it. Tard wants to control from the top but Powell keeps moving. Tard sitting in guard here, content to control. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Tard trying to control the position from guard on top but Powell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Tard working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Tard looking to pass the guard. Tard is looking to work some ground and pound but Powell has wrist control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tard looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Powell! Powell is squirming around, avoiding Tard's attempts to control the action. Tard sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Powell gets back to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tard in particular looking to stall.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Tard shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Powell napping and manages to drive through into side control! Tard trying to control the action but Powell is working from the bottom. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Powell is defended easily by Tard. Powell dives in and grabs Tard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tard pushes down on Powell's head and hops out. Powell ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Tard throws a hook to the side of Powell's head but Powell sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Powell moves out of range of the strikes. Powell misses with a takedown attempt and Tard counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikey Powell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tard swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A big left from Tard misses. Powell fails with the takedown and Tard counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Powell! Tard punishing his opponent with strikes. Tard thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Tard with a couple of short strikes. Fard Tard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Powell is looking for a sweep. Tard is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tard is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Tard throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Powell avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Tard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Powell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Tard missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Tard throwing shots but Powell is blocking nicely.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Tard looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Powell! Tard has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Powell's face.

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Let's hope that Tard has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Despite being in the dominant position, Fard Tard just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice defenses there by Powell. Powell slips a jab from Tard. Tard drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Tard trying to control the position from guard on top but Powell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tard controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mikey Powell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Fard Tard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tard has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
