Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Willie Del Monte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky DeMarco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willie Del Monte! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky DeMarco! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeMarco throws a head kick but Del Monte moves out of range.
Del Monte tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. DeMarco looks for a takedown but Del Monte sprawls well. No joy there for Del Monte, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Del Monte looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? DeMarco is fending him off so far but Del Monte persists. Nope, DeMarco circles away and we're back to standing. DeMarco throws a right and a left that both miss. DeMarco shoots and misses and Del Monte counters with a nice double leg into side control. DeMarco won't be happy with that. DeMarco tries to control but Del Monte manages to take his back. DeMarco trying to control the hands but Del Monte breaks the grip. DeMarco turns into Del Monte and is now in his guard.

Del Monte bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in DeMarco's guard. DeMarco is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now DeMarco is on top in guard.

Del Monte is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Del Monte is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. DeMarco stopping the sweep attempt from Del Monte.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Del Monte is working hard here to advance position. Del Monte looking for submissions from the bottom but instead DeMarco passes into half guard.
DeMarco seems to be working for a kimura but Del Monte defends the submission attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. DeMarco is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Del Monte sees it coming and defends easily. DeMarco seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Del Monte does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Del Monte is looking to control DeMarco's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Del Monte avoid being mounted? DeMarco is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

DeMarco tries to free his leg and advance position but Del Monte is retaining full guard. DeMarco wants to control from the top but Del Monte keeps moving. Del Monte working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because DeMarco has passed into half guard!

Del Monte doesn't succeed with the takedown and DeMarco counters with a takedown into side control. DeMarco controlling the position. DeMarco swings around for an armbar but Del Monte sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into DeMarco's guard. Del Monte trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. DeMarco is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Del Monte gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and DeMarco counters with a nice uppercut. Del Monte is fighting to maintain full guard but DeMarco has managed to sneak the leg through. DeMarco controlling the action here. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with DeMarco in particular looking to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky DeMarco showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Del Monte closes the distance but DeMarco moves to the side and DeMarco counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. DeMarco has a takedown stuffed. Some wild striking there from Del Monte.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. DeMarco fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
DeMarco throws a nice looking combination but Del Monte bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Del Monte swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and DeMarco cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Del Monte won't allow DeMarco to sweep him here. DeMarco is trying to control the position but Del Monte postures up. DeMarco is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Del Monte jumps into side control! Del Monte wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by DeMarco, who protects the arm well. Del Monte tries to move to mount but DeMarco blocks the move with his legs.
And that's the end of the fight! Willie Del Monte showed his dominance in that final round. I think Del Monte has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
