Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Craig McDaniel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danya Yakovlev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDaniel comes to the ring accompanied by Not Afraid. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Craig McDaniel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danya Yakovlev! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McDaniel closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yakovlev circles away. McDaniel tries to clinch up but Yakovlev circles away and keeps his distance. McDaniel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Yakovlev shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McDaniel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Yakovlev stands and steps away. McDaniel gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. McDaniel with a poor takedown and Yakovlev counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McDaniel's guard now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Craig McDaniel. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McDaniel trying to control the position.
Yakovlev has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McDaniel is proving hard to escape from. McDaniel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. McDaniel is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Yakovlev wants to get up but he can't break McDaniel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. McDaniel has his foot on Yakovlev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yakovlev works his way back into a safe position though. Yakovlev decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Yakovlev drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Yakovlev stands up from guard. Let's bang! Yakovlev gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and McDaniel counters with a nice double leg into side control. Yakovlev won't be happy with that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDaniel prevents Yakovlev from escaping the position. Yakovlev throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! McDaniel gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Yakovlev to score an easy takedown into full guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Yakovlev gets to his feet - McDaniel follows without any prompting. Yakovlev closes the distance and clinches up with McDaniel, looking for a takedown. Yakovlev pushes McDaniel against the ropes but McDaniel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. McDaniel wants to clinch and Yakovlev counters with a shoot takedown. McDaniel fights it but they end up in guard.

McDaniel has a closed guard, preventing Yakovlev from standing up. Yakovlev decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McDaniel, up you get!
That's six minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Yakovlev shoots in but McDaniel avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nice takedown defense from McDaniel. No joy for Yakovlev on that attempt. McDaniel shoots and misses and Yakovlev counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McDaniel's guard now.

Come on McDaniel, up you get! Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Nice sprawl there from Yakovlev as McDaniel shoots in. McDaniel with a poor takedown and Yakovlev counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in McDaniel's guard now. McDaniel is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McDaniel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yakovlev can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Yakovlev is looking to stand up but McDaniel won't let him. Yakovlev stands and steps away. McDaniel gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Yakovlev shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and McDaniel counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McDaniel. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's one minute gone in the round. McDaniel is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Yakovlev defends well. Yakovlev stands up and waves to McDaniel to follow him. McDaniel has his takedown stuffed and Yakovlev counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Yakovlev tries to stand but his arm is trapped. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yakovlev decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Yakovlev with a lazy takedown attempt and McDaniel counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Yakovlev! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Yakovlev squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
McDaniel wants to control the pace but Yakovlev is squirming around nicely. Yakovlev is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. McDaniel unloading with bombs!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Yakovlev wants to try and get back to his feet. Yakovlev avoids a strike by McDaniel and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in McDaniel's guard! Fantastic escape!

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Yakovlev decides to take the fight back to the feet. Yakovlev closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Yakovlev stands up. McDaniel fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Yakovlev gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and McDaniel counters with a shoot takedown. Yakovlev fights it but they end up in guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Danya Yakovlev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Yakovlev has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
