Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Takeru Kobayashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tito Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ortiz has chosen Bad Boy 4 Life as his entrance music. Tito Ortiz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Takeru Kobayashi! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tito Ortiz! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kobayashi misses with a few strikes there.
Kobayashi misses with a wild body shot. Jab, jab by Kobayashi - just one landing. Ortiz closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Ortiz throws a hook but Kobayashi avoids it easily. Kobayashi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ortiz throws out the jab. Ortiz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kobayashi's waist but Kobayashi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ortiz off to one side. Ortiz looks for a takedown but Kobayashi sprawls well. Ortiz shoots in but Kobayashi avoids the takedown attempt easily. Takeru Kobayashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tito Ortiz. Ortiz moves into the clinch. Ortiz tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz has Kobayashi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kobayashi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Ortiz is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kobayashi pulls him back up using the underhooks. Kobayashi tries to break the clinch but Ortiz is controlling the position. Kobayashi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kobayashi scores with a jab. Kobayashi scores with a sloppy right hand. Ortiz should have avoided that one. Kobayashi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kobayashi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ortiz doesn't seem bothered though. Kobayashi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Ortiz misses with a jab to the body
enabling Kobayashi to counter with a crisp jab. Kobayashi connects with a right hand. Ortiz shakes it off. Ortiz ducks right into an uppercut from Kobayashi. This has been an exciting period of action! Kobayashi dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kobayashi connects with a right hand. Ortiz shakes it off. Kobayashi is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kobayashi with a hook. Kobayashi lands a jab to Ortiz's midsection. Ortiz looks gassed! Kobayashi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ortiz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Kobayashi lands the left hand.
It looks like Tito Ortiz has been cut. Takeru Kobayashi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. No luck for Ortiz with that takedown attempt. Ortiz gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Kobayashi. Ortiz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kobayashi as he jumps to the side. Kobayashi with a nice cross.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kobayashi takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Ortiz is trying desperately to land a takedown but Kobayashi is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Ortiz. Kobayashi bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Kobayashi ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Ortiz wants to clinch up but Kobayashi keeps it at a distance. Kobayashi is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Kobayashi smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Kobayashi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ortiz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Kobayashi lands a two punch combo.
Kobayashi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kobayashi feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ortiz's calf. Kobayashi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ortiz.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kobayashi scores with a nice body kick.
Ortiz takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kobayashi lands with a shot to the body. Kobayashi thuds a left hand into Ortiz's body. Ortiz takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kobayashi lands a lovely overhand right. Kobayashi scores with a decent looking hook. The fighters circle momentarily. Kobayashi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kobayashi scores with a jab to the body. Kobayashi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Takeru Kobayashi dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tito Ortiz's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kobayashi digs a good body shot into Ortiz's ribs. Kobayashi cracks a nice hook into Ortiz's ribs. Ortiz takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Kobayashi is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Kobayashi pushes Ortiz away with a front kick. Kobayashi slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Kobayashi lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Kobayashi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ortiz can do to turn this around? Kobayashi lands a nice shot to the body.
Kobayashi with a nice cross. Ortiz is breathing heavily. Ortiz walks into a stiff left hand from Kobayashi. Kobayashi throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Ortiz moves into the clinch. Kobayashi manages to break the clinch.

Ortiz takes one to the chin there. Ortiz gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Kobayashi lands with a good body shot. Takeru Kobayashi is winning the standup battle so far. Ortiz stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kobayashi.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kobayashi.
Ortiz moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Kobayashi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Kobayashi scores with a hook. Ortiz takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kobayashi lunges at Ortiz with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ortiz's hand. Kobayashi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kobayashi tries to avoid it but Ortiz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kobayashi to the ground. Kobayashi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kobayashi digs a good hook to Ortiz's body.

Ortiz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kobayashi. Kobayashi obviously looking to wear him down.
Kobayashi scores with the left hand. Ortiz knows he should have avoided that one. Jab, jab by Kobayashi - just one landing. Kobayashi lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ortiz's sensitive parts. Ortiz has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Kobayashi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lazy left from Kobayashi finds it's target. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kobayashi scores with a hook to the body. Ortiz takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. An inside leg kick lands from Kobayashi. Kobayashi lands a nice shot to the body.
Kobayashi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ortiz at a distance.
Ortiz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Ortiz takes a body punch but keeps moving. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nice jab there from Kobayashi. Nice shot lands for Kobayashi. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kobayashi lands with a kick to the temple. Ortiz shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Ortiz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ortiz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kobayashi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ortiz on the ground. Kobayashi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ortiz is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ortiz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ortiz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kobayashi works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ortiz postures up in Kobayashi's guard and throws a big left but Kobayashi blocks it. Ortiz drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ortiz seems to have locked his on tight now - Kobayashi screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ortiz, as he picks up the win!
