Hazelett comes to the cage accompanied by I'd Love to Change the World. The Punchy Pokemon Hitmonchan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, The Punchy Pokemon Hitmonchan!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hitmonchan ducks under a wild hook from Hazelett.
Hitmonchan misses with a hook. Hazelett ducked under it nicely.
Hitmonchan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hazelett moves away.
Hitmonchan misses with a series of wild punches.
Hitmonchan looks to score with a jab to the body but Hazelett is just out of range.
Hitmonchan scores with a sloppy right hand. Hazelett should have avoided that one.
Hitmonchan digs a good hook to Hazelett's body.
The fighters circling - Hazelett throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hitmonchan lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Hazelett throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hazelett takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Hitmonchan slips under a jab.

Hazelett throws a hook but Hitmonchan blocks it.
Hitmonchan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hazelett tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hitmonchan was well out of range. Poor timing from Hazelett.
Hazelett ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hitmonchan moves away.
Hazelett throws a jab when Hitmonchan was well out of range.
Hazelett swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hitmonchan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hazelett falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hitmonchan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hitmonchan misses with a shot to the body
and Hazelett counters with a right hand to the body.
The Punchy Pokemon Hitmonchan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hitmonchan misses with a straight left.
Hitmonchan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hazelett throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hitmonchan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hazelett loads up on a big right hand but Hitmonchan slips the punch.
Hitmonchan staying out of range there.
Hitmonchan lands with a thumping leg kick.
Hazelett throws a hook but Hitmonchan blocks it.
Hitmonchan throws a one two combo.
Hazelett throws a big shot that misses.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hitmonchan.
Hitmonchan misses with a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hitmonchan misses with a body punch
and Hazelett counters with a two punch combo.
Hitmonchan scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hazelett misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hazelett misses with a two punch combination.
Hitmonchan misses with a looping left.
Hazelett throws out a loose jab but Hitmonchan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hazelett misses with a straight left.
Hitmonchan scores with a kick to the midsection.
Hitmonchan misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hazelett throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hitmonchan misses the body punch
and Hitmonchan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hazelett misses the body punch
and Hitmonchan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hitmonchan misses with a series of wild punches.
Hazelett keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hitmonchan.
Hazelett throws a looping overhand right but Hitmonchan ducks down to avoid it.
Hitmonchan scores with a nice strike.
A slapping leg kick lands for Hitmonchan.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hazelett sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hitmonchan moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


Hazelett is rocked!
Hitmonchan works Hazelett's body with a nice hook.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Punchy Pokemon Hitmonchan dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hitmonchan lands a brutal head kick. Hazelett looks out on his feet and Hitmonchan throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
