Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Padva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Li might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Give My Bullet Back. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Antonio Padva! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Padva tries to clinch up. Padva fails in his attempt to clinch. Antonio Padva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Padva will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Li has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Padva is trying to keep an underhook but Li manages to get the takedown into half guard. Li is working for a kimura but Padva is defending it quite comfortably.
Li is keen to just control but Padva is a slippery customer. Padva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Li. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Li is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Padva is positioning himself well to prevent Li advancing to mount. Padva wants to get back to his feet.
Li seems to be working for a kimura but Padva defends the submission attempt. Li is looking for a kimura but Padva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Li to get the leverage. Li tries to pass to full mount but Padva defends it. Li wants to lay and pray for a moment but Padva keeps working.

Li is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Padva is just riding it out for now. Li eventually gives up the hold. Li is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Padva throws a right hand that Li ducks under and follows up with a left that Li also avoids with ease. Padva wants to clinch. Padva tries to clinch there but Li circles away.

Li swats away the attempt to clinch by Padva. Li shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Padva is trying to defend but Li finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Li seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Padva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Li is looking to stall here but Padva recovers full guard. Padva keeping full guard, as Li tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Li wants to control from the top but Padva keeps moving. Padva wants to stand but Li is controlling the position. Li tries to free his leg and advance position but Padva is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Li passes Padva's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Padva is breathing heavily. Li trying to mount his opponent but Padva defends it. Li is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Padva is just riding it out for now. Li eventually gives up the hold.
