Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Floppy McPoppins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Bjerke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Bjerke's choice of entrance music: Three 6 Mafia - It's a Fight . Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Floppy McPoppins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benny Bjerke!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bjerke gets the takedown into side control.

Bjerke tries to score with some ground and pound. McPoppins controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
McPoppins is not content to let Bjerke control the position.

Bjerke is trying to get an arm triangle but McPoppins is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bjerke thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
McPoppins is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bjerke is looking to clinch.

Bjerke tries to close the distance and clinch but McPoppins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bjerke will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McPoppins fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

McPoppins shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
McPoppins is keen to just control but Bjerke is a slippery customer.

Bjerke doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Bjerke throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Bjerke tries to work over McPoppins's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

McPoppins jumps into guard, dragging Bjerke to the mat.

Bjerke looking to sit in guard and control but McPoppins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
McPoppins is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

McPoppins wants to control from the top but Bjerke keeps moving.
McPoppins is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bjerke is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Bjerke lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McPoppins!
McPoppins is trying desperately to improve position.

Bjerke jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… McPoppins is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by McPoppins and Bjerke has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Bjerke wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McPoppins, who protects the arm well.

McPoppins is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bjerke off and has taken his back!
Bjerke tries to escape but McPoppins has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
McPoppins cracks Bjerke with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Bjerke from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
McPoppins lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Bjerke.

The referee is taking a good look at Bjerke as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from McPoppins!

Bjerke has gone for a leg lock! McPoppins slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bjerke's guard.

McPoppins looks up at the clock and then as Bjerke takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, McPoppins smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Bjerke drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McPoppins manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bjerke has McPoppins in his guard.

McPoppins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bjerke with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
McPoppins passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bjerke!

McPoppins cracks Bjerke with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Bjerke is bucking up trying to escape but McPoppins cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for McPoppins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
