Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vince Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Vince Jones has been cut.
Griffin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Griffin circles away.
Jones ducks under a wild hook from Griffin.
Griffin swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.
Danga de danga de dang - Griffin scores with a four punch combination!
Jones looks for the body kick but Griffin saw that one coming.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones throws a hook but Griffin blocks it.

Jones works Griffin's body with a nice hook.
Griffin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jones.
Griffin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Griffin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Griffin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Griffin gets a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Griffin tries to pass to full mount but Jones defends it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jones manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Griffin throwing strikes but missing.
Griffin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.

Vince Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Griffin throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Griffin connects with a right hand. Jones shakes it off.
Griffin lands a lovely overhand right.

Griffin manages to break the clinch.
Griffin throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.

Griffin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Jones misses with a hook. Griffin ducked under it nicely.

Jones drops his hands momentarily and Griffin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Griffin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Griffin stalks Jones and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jones's face. Jones staggers backwards, shaken.

and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. Griffin didn't expect that.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Griffin seems keen to control Jones's posture.

Griffin wants to sweep but no luck.
Griffin is adopting a defensive guard.
Vince Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones won't allow Griffin to sweep him here.
Griffin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Griffin is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Brian Griffin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Griffin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
