The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida throws a head kick that misses.
Danga de danga de dang - Handsoncock scores with a four punch combination!
Machida misses with a wild body shot.
Machida lands with a kick to the ribs.
Handsoncock throws a wild body kick that Machida sees coming a mile off.
Machida throws a sloppy head kick and Handsoncock moves out of range easily.
Handsoncock throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Machida misses with a looping left.
Machida dodges the punch combination from Handsoncock.
Machida blocks a jab.
Machida wants to clinch up but Handsoncock keeps it at a distance.
Handsoncock lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Machida circles away quickly and effectively.
Dameon Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machida dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Handsoncock looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A telegraphed right hand from Machida misses the target.
Handsoncock slips a jab from Machida.
Handsoncock shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Machida as he avoids it easily.
Machida throws a push kick but Handsoncock slaps the foot to one side.
A bone on bone clash there as Handsoncock blocks the leg kick.
Handsoncock misses with a takedown attempt - Machida sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Good work by Handsoncock as he checks the leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Machida.
Handsoncock looks gassed!
Machida lands with a cross.
Machida lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Handsoncock is rocked!
Handsoncock drops his hands momentarily. Machida doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Handsoncock staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Handsoncock doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dameon Machida!
