Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner misses with a jab, cross combination.
Banner moves into the clinch successfully.

Punchy McPunches seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Banner lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
McPunches takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Banner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McPunches moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

McPunches shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Banner pinned against the cage. Banner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Banner tries to score a power double leg takedown but McPunches sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Banner somewhat.
McPunches fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
McPunches shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Banner sprawls well. Banner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McPunches gets slowly back to his feet.

Banner shoots for a takedown but McPunches saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McPunches tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Banner swivels and escapes.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for McPunches. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

and Banner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

McPunches wants to get back to his feet.
Banner is taking a breather. McPunches says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Banner is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
McPunches pushes Banner off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and Banner counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Banner lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nice takedown defense from Banner. No joy for McPunches on that attempt.
McPunches shoots in looking for a takedown. Banner tries to sprawl out of it but McPunches keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Banner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No joy there for Banner, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Banner takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Banner is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
McPunches falls off balance throwing a combination
and Banner counters with a left and a right that stings McPunches.
Banner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McPunches circles away quickly and effectively.

Banner takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Banner tries to pass to full mount but McPunches defends it.
McPunches seems to have got his legs back now.
McPunches keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Banner tries to stand but his hand is stuck under McPunches.
Banner is trying to control the action in half guard but McPunches is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Banner wants to stand but McPunches has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Banner has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Banner is stalling here. McPunches is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Banner seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and McPunches has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McPunches seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Banner does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Banner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McPunches stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Punchy McPunches is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Banner lands with a big left! McPunches is wobbled badly! Banner comes in with a flurry of punches and drops McPunches to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
