Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Damian Marley - Welcome To Jamrock. Michael Alvarez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva instigates a clinch.
Silva tries a knee to the head but Alvarez blocks it.
Silva looking to throw knees to the head but Alvarez is blocking nicely.
Alvarez drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Silva is pressed up against the cage. Alvarez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Silva down to the mat. Silva avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alvarez tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.

Alvarez drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Alvarez off! Alvarez jumps back into Silva's guard.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Alvarez is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Alvarez's back instead.

Alvarez turns into Silva and is now in his guard.

Silva wants to sweep here but Alvarez controlling him for the moment.

Alvarez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Alvarez swings around for an armbar but Silva sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Alvarez's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Alvarez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Alvarez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Alvarez is working for a guillotine from mount but Silva frees his head quite easily.
Alvarez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Silva can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Silva has given up his back. Will we see Alvarez going for some submissions?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alvarez working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Silva is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Alvarez has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Silva taps out!
