Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leather Slammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rand James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rand James is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Leather Slammer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rand James! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. James closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. James staying calm. Both fighters take a look at the clock. Slammer wants to control but James postures up. Slammer takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Slammer tries to improve position but can't. Slammer can't do much from the bottom here. James is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Slammer is looking to work his way out of this bad position but James is controlling him well. Slammer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. James is looking to take a break and control but Slammer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. James is staying tight to Slammer's torso, preventing him from escaping. Slammer really is a fat lump. James is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Slammer has escaped the position, nice work there. Slammer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for James on the ground. James is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Slammer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. James tries to move to mount but Slammer blocks the move with his legs. James moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Slammer taking a bit of punishment here - James scoring with strikes. Slammer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but James wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. James controlling the position from side mount. Slammer sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Slammer wants to get back to his feet. James controlling the action here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. James's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rand James. James throws a sloppy head kick and Slammer moves out of range easily. Slammer shoots and misses so James counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Slammer keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. Slammer is breathing heavily. James sitting in guard, not really doing much. Slammer tries to land a sweep but no joy. Slammer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Slammer tries to get out of the position. Slammer keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. James stays in close to Slammer's body and controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slammer wants to sweep but no luck. James seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rand James. Slammer misses with a takedown attempt and James counters with a single leg into guard. Slammer didn't expect that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leather Slammer. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. James slips nicely into half guard. James not landing any meaningful shots this time. James seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. James seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Slammer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nice strikes from James there. James is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rand James dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Slammer misses with a takedown attempt and James counters with a good, hard body kick but Slammer shrugs it off. A nice leg kick lands there from James. This has been an exciting period of action! Slammer takes a shot to the body in his stride.
James rushes Slammer and presses him up against the cage. James tries to score a body lock takedown but Slammer shows good agility there to stay on his feet. James is trying to drag Slammer to the mat but Slammer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. James successfully pulls guard.
James is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Still in half guard, James seems content to control. James is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Slammer! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. James content just to control the position here. James tries to control but Slammer wriggling away. BOOM! James connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Slammer keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
James wants to control the pace but Slammer is squirming around nicely. James is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Slammer has managed to escape the submission attempt.
James moves to back control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slammer controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Rand James has got the better of the ground game so far. James working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Slammer is doing well to defend. James seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Slammer is forced to tap and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rand James!
