Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zak Maxwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ralph O Briar!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell fails in his attempt to clinch.
Maxwell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
O Briar misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Maxwell staying out of range there.
O Briar misses with a straight left.
O Briar lands with a right hand.
Maxwell comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Maxwell swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Maxwell is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in O Briar's half guard.

O Briar looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Maxwell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maxwell thows a huge punch but O Briar dodges it nicely.
Maxwell thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

O Briar looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Maxwell lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Maxwell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so O Briar is just riding it out for now. Maxwell eventually gives up the hold.
O Briar moves into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Maxwell wants to pass the guard but O Briar is keeping the position.
Maxwell throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

O Briar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maxwell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Maxwell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
O Briar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

O Briar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maxwell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but O Briar is tightening it up a little... Maxwell has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Maxwell reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Maxwell taps out! nice BJJ there by O Briar!
