The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nepgen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kalashnikov circles away.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kalashnikov.
Nepgen shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Nepgen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Kalashnikov wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nepgen uses his free foot to push down on Kalashnikov's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kalashnikov.
Nepgen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kalashnikov is looking to escape.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kalashnikov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Nepgen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kalashnikov's guard.

Nepgen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Nepgen lands a nice short elbow.

Nepgen is keen to just control but Kalashnikov is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cor Nepgen.

Nepgen is landing with some decent strikes but Kalashnikov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Nepgen cracks Kalashnikov with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
