Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Quiny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Gould (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gould has chosen skillet-monster as his entrance music. Gould has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Nathan Gould has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Quiny! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nathan Gould! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quiny throws a body punch but Gould moves out of range. Quiny throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gould. Quiny shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Quiny tries to stand but Gould is controlling from the bottom. Gould looks gassed! Quiny looking to sit in guard and control but Gould gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Gould drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Quiny dives on top into guard. Quiny has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Quiny not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Quiny content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quiny passes easily into side control. Nice work. Quiny controls the position. Quiny wants to control but Gould is keeping him busy. Quiny happy to just control the position for now. Quiny stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quiny shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gould defends it nicely. Quiny closes the distance and clinches. Quiny changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gould fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Quiny tries to clinch but Gould moves out of range. Quiny closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gould to the mat! Gould manages to get full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quiny passes Gould's left leg - he's now in half guard. Gould is looking to get back to full guard here but Quiny has managed to pass to side control instead.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Quiny is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Quiny throws a nice looking combination but Gould bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Quiny shoots in looking for a takedown. Gould tries to sprawl out of it but Quiny keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gould manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Quiny. That's going to take a lot out of him. Quiny looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quiny trying to control the action but Gould is working from the bottom. Gould looking for submissions off his back. Quiny stands up out of the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quiny shoots in for a takedown but Gould shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Quiny drives through and clinches with Gould against the cage.

Gould postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Quiny is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gould, into his guard. Quiny drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Quiny jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Quiny gets to his feet - Gould follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quiny shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gould as he jumps to the side. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Quiny is looking to clinch but Gould is avoiding it.
Quiny pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Gould shoots and misses and Quiny counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Jack Quiny is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Quiny is looking to clinch but Gould is avoiding it.
Jack Quiny seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Quiny is looking to clinch. Nice takedown defense from Quiny. No joy for Gould on that attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Quiny tries to clinch up. Quiny shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gould napping and manages to drive through into side control! Quiny decides to stand back up. Quiny looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Gould shoots and misses and Quiny makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gould really felt that one! Jack Quiny has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathan Gould. Quiny fails in his attempt to clinch. Quiny is looking to clinch but Gould is avoiding it.

Quiny tries to land a front kick but Gould steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quiny tries a head kick but it misses.
Quiny tries to clinch up. Quiny closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Quiny trying to pass the guard but Gould defending well. Quiny content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Gould is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Quiny pulls his head out easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quiny frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Quiny jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gould is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gould and Quiny has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Gould is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Quiny dominated that second round. That's time! Quiny's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Quiny tries to clinch but Gould moves out of range. Gould takes a kick to the side of the head. Gould fails with the takedown. Gould dodges the punch combination from Quiny.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Gould crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Quiny - the referee stops the clock and Gould gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Quiny. Gould manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Gould walks into a straight right hand from Quiny. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Quiny lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

That's one minute gone in the round. Quiny moves into the clinch successfully.
Gould is pressed up against the cage. Quiny has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gould down to the mat. Gould avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Quiny gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Quiny tries to score a body lock takedown but Gould shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Quiny drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gould pulls his leg out and moves away.

Gould decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Gould seems to be looking for submissions.

Gould is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Quiny sees it coming and defends easily. Gould is thwarting Quiny's attempts to control the position. Quiny is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Quiny is defending against the submission attempts here by Gould.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Gould gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Quiny to score an easy takedown into full guard. Quiny would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quiny trying to control but Gould is working from the bottom. Quiny gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. The fight stays on the outside here - Quiny looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And that's the end of the fight! Jack Quiny showed his dominance in that final round. Well Quiny has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
