Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Heaten Howler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Sierra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Sierra is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Heaten Howler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Sierra! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Howler defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sierra. No joy there for Howler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Howler fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sierra looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sierra is defended easily by Howler. Howler throws a right hand that Sierra ducks under and follows up with a left that Sierra also avoids with ease. Sierra dodges the punch combination from Howler.
Howler throws a right and a left that Sierra avoids nicely. Sierra shoots in but Howler avoids the takedown attempt easily. Heaten Howler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Sierra. Sierra closes this distance looking for a takedown but Howler circles away. Howler misses with a wild combination.
No joy there for Howler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sierra fails with a takedown attempt. A looping hook to the body misses from Howler. Sierra does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sierra misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Howler slaps away a takedown attempt from Sierra, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sierra tries a head kick but it misses.
Sierra shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Howler as he avoids it easily. Sierra on the wrong end of a nice hook. Howler throws a series of punches but Sierra avoids them all with ease. Sierra scores with a takedown into Howler's guard. Sierra drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Howler manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sierra has Howler in his guard. Sierra looks gassed! Howler wants to get up but he can't break Sierra's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sierra is on top in guard.
Sierra is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sierra wants to pass the guard but Howler is keeping the position. Howler scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Howler looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Howler leaves Sierra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sierra misses with a few strikes there.
Sierra throws a leg kick which misses Howler's front leg but catches the back leg as Howler tries to avoid it. Sierra fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Howler avoids it really well and circles away. Sierra throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Howler's waist but Howler gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sierra off to one side. Howler really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Howler falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sierra counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Howler's guard now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sierra stays in close to Howler's body and controls the position. Sierra drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sierra jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Howler wants to stand up but Sierra is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sierra trying to control the position from guard on top but Howler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sierra stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Howler swivels though and keeps the full guard. Howler preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Howler wants to get back to his feet but Sierra is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sierra wants to control from the top but Howler keeps moving. Sierra sitting in guard here, content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Frank Sierra will probably get the nod. That's time! Howler's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Howler will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Howler steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Sierra. That one must have hurt. Sierra tries for a takedown but Howler sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Sierra slips under a jab. Howler connects with a jab. Sierra avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sierra shoots in and bounces Howler off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sierra accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Howler is looking to stand up but Sierra isn't so interested in that idea. Sierra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Howler is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sierra loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sierra advances to half guard. Sierra wants to pass the guard but Howler is defending well. Howler is trying to stand back up but Sierra is controlling him

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sierra wants to control but Howler is keeping him busy. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Frank Sierra wasn't active enough on the ground. Sierra fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Howler avoids it really well and circles away. Sierra drives through with a takedown into guard. Sierra trying to control the position from guard on top but Howler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Howler is looking to stand up but Sierra isn't so interested in that idea. Howler keeping moving, preventing Sierra from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sierra's corner is telling him to maintain position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Howler keeping moving, preventing Sierra from controlling successfully. Howler knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sierra on the ground.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Frank Sierra. Sierra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Howler but Howler pushes him off and we're back to square one. Heaten Howler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Sierra. Sierra lands a high kick!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sierra slips a nice elbow through Howler's hands, connecting with Howler's forehead. Sierra is working for a kimura but Howler is defending it quite comfortably.
Sierra works his foot free and advances to mount. Howler squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Sierra breaks from Howler's wrist control and lands an elbow. Sierra is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Howler can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Sierra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Sierra scores with a takedown into Howler's guard. Sierra trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Howler pushes Sierra off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Sierra closes the distance and clinches. Sierra has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Howler is trying to keep an underhook but Sierra manages to get the takedown into half guard. Howler is trying to stand up here but Sierra is controlling him well. Sierra performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Frank Sierra has got the better of the ground game so far. Howler pushes Sierra off looking to stand but Sierra dives back in and keeps control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sierra passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Howler! Sierra lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Howler hang on? Sierra trying to control but Howler is having none of it. Sierra lands a heavy elbow. Howler is trying to stand. Sierra jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Howler manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sierra happy to just control the position for now. Sierra lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Howler down.
Sierra prevents Howler from escaping the position. Sierra remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Sierra wants to lay and pray for a moment but Howler keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sierra slows the pace down. Sierra has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Howler is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sierra yanks on the arm and Howler is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sierra.
