12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Burton! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burton connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
It looks like adolf hummel has been cut. A jab lands there for hummel. hummel avoids a punch combination nicely.
No luck for hummel with that takedown attempt. Fred Burton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice sprawl there from Burton as hummel shoots in. Burton throws an overhand right that lands on hummel's shoulder, as hummel tries to avoid the shot. hummel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Burton. Nice takedown defense from Burton. No joy for hummel on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for adolf hummel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Burton slaps away a takedown attempt from hummel, before circling back to the center of the mat. Burton swings and misses with a hook to the body.
hummel throws a head kick that half lands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Burton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Burton working the head and body with strikes. Burton is thwarting hummel's attempts to control the position. Burton lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burton is looking to take a break and control but hummel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ground and pound from Burton. hummel is looking to escape. Burton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Burton sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. hummel defending well though. Burton working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. hummel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Burton is working away from the top position though. hummel wants to improve his position but Burton is controlling well.
Burton looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks hummel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Burton lands a nice short elbow. Burton lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. hummel is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Burton scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burton not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Burton not landing any meaningful shots this time. Burton stands up and beckons hummel to join him on the feet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Burton drops hummel with a naaaaasty hook - hummel is in real trouble here! Burton dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
