Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rick Steiner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Devlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Devlin has chosen sandstorm as his entrance music. Nick Devlin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Steiner! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Devlin! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steiner shoots in for a double leg but Devlin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Steiner is looking to clinch but Devlin is avoiding it.
Devlin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Devlin passes Steiner's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Devlin uses his free foot to push down on Steiner's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Steiner. Devlin moves to the back. Devlin working for the choke. I really don't envy Steiner right now.
Devlin working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Steiner tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Steiner working to try and regain half guard.
Steiner prevents Devlin from taking his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Devlin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Steiner can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Devlin goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Steiner turns into him and now he's in Devlin's guard.
Devlin looks gassed! Steiner advances to half guard. Steiner seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Devlin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Devlin. Devlin has momentary wrist control but Steiner slips an elbow through the middle. Devlin wants to stand but Steiner is controlling the position. Steiner has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Devlin is proving hard to escape from.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steiner stopping the sweep attempt from Devlin. Steiner lands a couple of digs. Devlin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Steiner's guard. Devlin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Devlin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Steiner's guard. Devlin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Devlin trying to mount his opponent but Steiner defends it. Devlin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Steiner is just riding it out for now. Devlin eventually gives up the hold. Steiner gets full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Devlin looking to pass the guard. Devlin drops back looking for a leg! Steiner is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Steiner manages to kick Devlin off! Devlin jumps back into Steiner's guard. Devlin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Devlin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Devlin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Steiner manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Devlin has Steiner in his guard. Devlin is looking for a triangle but Steiner pushes his legs off easily.
Steiner has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Steiner won't allow Devlin to sweep him here. Devlin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Steiner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Steiner manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Devlin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Steiner is one step ahead there. Devlin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Devlin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Devlin throws his legs up looking for a submission but Steiner uses it to pass to side control.
Devlin is looking for a sweep. Devlin takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Steiner scores with punches from side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Steiner controls the position from side control. Devlin prevents Steiner from moving into mount. Steiner stands up and beckons Devlin to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Devlin dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Steiner throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Devlin shoots and misses and Steiner counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Steiner. Steiner breaks the clinch.
Steiner shoots and misses and Devlin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Steiner! Devlin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Steiner is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Steiner and Devlin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steiner is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Devlin's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Devlin seems to be looking for submissions.
Devlin wants to pass to mount but Steiner is defending the position. Devlin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Devlin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Steiner is just riding it out for now. Devlin eventually gives up the hold.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Steiner wants to improve his position but Devlin is controlling well.

Steiner preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Steiner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Steiner is in trouble now - Devlin has advanced to mount! Devlin swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Steiner is now in Devlin's guard. A big mistake from Devlin there, giving up the dominant position! Devlin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Steiner is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Devlin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Steiner is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Devlin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Steiner's back instead. Devlin is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Steiner needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation. Devlin working for a choke but Steiner is defending well. Devlin is looking for the choke from the back position but Steiner is controlling his hands well. Devlin doesn't have the hooks in and Steiner manages to turn into his guard.
Devlin is looking for a triangle but Steiner pushes his legs off easily.
Devlin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steiner controls the pace.

Steiner tries to free his leg and advance position but Devlin is retaining full guard. Devlin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Steiner doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Devlin is tightening it up a little... Steiner has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Steiner reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Steiner taps out! nice BJJ there by Devlin!
