Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff John Gailfus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikhail Filitov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeff John Gailfus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Filitov!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gailfus gets the takedown into side control.
Filitov struggling a bit here.
Gailfus tries to advance to mount but can't.
Gailfus tries to get to his feet but Filitov is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Gailfus in his guard.
Filitov manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Filitov is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Gailfus has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Gailfus!
Gailfus tries to free his leg and advance position but Filitov is retaining full guard.

Filitov is working an open guard so Gailfus takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Gailfus shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Filitov defends it nicely.

Filitov wants to control but Gailfus is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Well, if Gailfus is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gailfus is nestled in close to Filitov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Gailfus gets caught flat footed, as Filitov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Filitov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gailfus is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Filitov, into his guard.

Gailfus postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Filitov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gailfus, into his guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Filitov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gailfus manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Filitov has Gailfus in his guard.
Filitov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gailfus controls the pace.

Gailfus seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Filitov for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jeff John Gailfus.

Gailfus is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Gailfus has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Filitov wants to control the position but Gailfus says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Mikhail Filitov will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Gailfus moves into the clinch successfully.

Gailfus tightens his grip and picks Filitov up, before dumping him to the ground. Filitov manages to land in guard.
Filitov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gailfus controls the pace.

Filitov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Filitov counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Gailfus stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Gailfus is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Filitov pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gailfus swings around for an armbar but Filitov sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gailfus's guard.
Gailfus on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gailfus tries to get out of the position.

Filitov has gone for a leg lock! Gailfus slips out almost immediately though and dives into Filitov's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jeff John Gailfus showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Gailfus has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
