PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Colin Burton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Mashburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burton's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Crying Game - Professor Green. On his way into the cage it seems that Colin Burton has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Colin Burton seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Colin Burton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Barry Mashburn!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burton has closed the distance and engaged Mashburn in a clinch.
Mashburn can't get the takedown.
Burton prevents Mashburn from breaking the clinch.
Mashburn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Burton walks away with a smile on his face. Mashburn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mashburn throws a sloppy head kick and Burton moves out of range easily.
Burton wants to clinch up but Mashburn keeps it at a distance.

Mashburn has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Burton is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Colin Burton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barry Mashburn.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mashburn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Burton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round but I would say that Colin Burton will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Mashburn postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Burton looks a forlorn figure.

Burton tries to lock up and control but Mashburn gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Burton can't escape the position.

Mashburn is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Burton is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Burton flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Mashburn anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Burton and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Mashburn slips an arm under Burton chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Mashburn has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Mashburn is squeezing on Burton like an anaconda would it's prey. Burton fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Barry Mashburn!
