And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ciro Xagas!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Xagas gets a takedown into half guard.
Harris is staying active underneath Xagas, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Xagas trying to control from Harris's half guard. Harris has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Harris keeping moving, preventing Xagas from controlling successfully.

Xagas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Harris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Xagas has managed to get both his arms back between Harris's legs - danger averted.
Harris is breathing heavily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Xagas passes Harris's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Xagas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Xagas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Xagas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Harris is looking to escape.

Xagas is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Xagas is looking to work his way around to Harris's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Xagas throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Harris because Xagas loaded up on that one.

Xagas moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Harris has worked his arm free - good work by Harris!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ciro Xagas.
Harris wants to clinch up but Xagas keeps it at a distance.

Xagas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Xagas trying to control the position but Harris is working away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Harris is trying to work for a sweep but Xagas has mounted him!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ciro Xagas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Harris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Xagas circles away quickly and effectively.

Xagas shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Harris napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Xagas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Harris keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harris regains half guard there - taking advantage of Xagas's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Xagas is working for a kimura but Harris is defending it quite comfortably.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Xagas throws a strike but Harris manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Xagas tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Frank Harris!
