The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lynch throws a right hand that Poncherello ducks under and follows up with a left that Poncherello also avoids with ease. Lynch misses with a wild combination.
Lynch lands with a nice body punch. Lynch scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Poncherello doesn't seem bothered though. Poncherello shoots in and drives through. Lynch sprawls well. Lynch throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Poncherello shoots for a takedown but Lynch saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lynch scores with a crisp jab that stopped Poncherello in his tracks. Lynch moves into the clinch. Poncherello tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lynch just stands there and leans against the cage. Tim Lynch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Poncherello. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lynch is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Lynch stands and throws Poncherello's legs to the side, diving into side control. Lynch wants to control but Poncherello is keeping him busy.

Poncherello tries to buck Lynch off but Lynch is having none of it. Poncherello manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Lynch looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Poncherello taking some punishment here, with Lynch in his half guard. Lynch is looking to advance position but Poncherello won't allow it. Poncherello gets back to full guard.

Lynch works his way into full mount! Poncherello sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Poncherello manages to get to full guard.

Lynch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Poncherello swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lynch looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lynch works over Poncherello's head and body with a nice combination. Poncherello shoots in for a double leg but Lynch sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Lynch throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Tim Lynch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lynch lands a jab-cross combination. Lynch keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Poncherello fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lynch avoids it really well and circles away. Tim Lynch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Poncherello is breathing heavily. Poncherello fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lynch sprawls well initially but Poncherello persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Lynch is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Poncherello accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Poncherello pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lynch is keeping the position for now. Poncherello throws and elbow that misses. Lynch uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Poncherello's guard. Nice move by Lynch! Poncherello keeping moving, preventing Lynch from controlling successfully. Lynch trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lynch wants to control from the top but Poncherello keeps moving. Poncherello escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lynch gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lynch stands up over Poncherello, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lynch trying to control the position from guard on top but Poncherello is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Poncherello is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lynch keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Poncherello's head. Poncherello pushes a forearm under Lynch's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Lynch is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
