The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piepper with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ban tries for a takedown but Piepper sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Piepper stuffs the takedown attempt from Ban. Ban gets slowly back to his feet.
Greody Piepper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rilo Ban.
Ban looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Piepper got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ban has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Piepper has managed to get both his arms back between Ban's legs - danger averted.

Piepper slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Piepper wants to pass the guard but Ban is keeping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ban looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Piepper is defending well. Ban quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Piepper has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Ban celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
